Yesterday time stood still.  Today we gain a few seconds more of daylight.  Each day we gain a bit more.  Suddenly on a cold January day the sun will lift our spirits as we notice the days really are getting longer.  The sun will be warming up the new greenhouse, making it pleasant as they work setting up tables and installing a furnace.  In the house we'll be setting up lights for starting plants.
Today everything is about Christmas.   My presents for my children and great grandchildren are wrapped.  I still have things to do for the grandchildren.  The others will be busy wrapping and finishing presents.  And we'll all be getting the house ready for our family Christmas tomorrow.
Yesterday several of the grandchildren sang carols at a nursing home.  Tomorrow afternoon they will sing for us.  We'll read the Christmas story and light the last candle in the Advent wreath, the Christ candle.
May your day be blessed, Sally
