The greenhouse crew was happy with what they got done on the new greenhouse yesterday. They did have to take a long lunch hour so Bekah and Heather could go get some lumber. Jay and Darel decided the used lumber they saved when they took the greenhouse down wasn't in good enough shape to use.
The girls put the summer furniture away. Maigin mowed and raked the yard around the house. I cleaned out the garden in front of the get together room windows,, The 4 foot tall red salvia finally was hit by enough frost so the bees weren't working it.
The plants had so many roots each one had to be pulled individually and have the dirt and earthworms shaken off. I covered the worms quickly so they wouldn't get chilled. Now evergreen boughs, bows and colored Christmas lights will go there. Usually there isn't enough snow before Christmas to bury them.
I cleaned up the spilled hay from the last load of hay that went out. I used it to bury the hose that comes out of the cellar. It is our emergency source of water for the greenhouse in case something happens to the water in the horsebarn. We've never had to use it but it is accessible if we do.
If you forgot to set your clocks back an hour you will be an hour early for church! May your day be blessed, Sally
