8/14/24 "Do Justice, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly"
We watched an itty bitty hummingbird drinking from the feeders yesterday. There have been small ones that were obviously this year's babies but this one seemed no larger than a thimble. I'm glad there are three feeders so it doesn't have to compete with the larger ones. I almost cut back to two during that hot weather when I was having to clean them every other day.
The sump pump hoses comes out of the cellar into the bathroom, over the shower and out the wall. Last time it got pinhole leaks in it it suddenly split wide open. This time I got a new hose right away. Last evening the new one was run. It took big Andrew down cellar, Jay in the bathroom and Bekah outside! Then I cleaned up the mud tracks! We found out why it didn't cost more. Andrew had said the hoses came in 25 foot length. They now come in 24 foot lengths. They made it work even though it was a foot shorter. A lot of water runs through that hose. We have an extra sump pump. We tried having an extra hose but it deteriorated just sitting on the shelf.
Our green beans have run out. We supplied beans to Millers, an Amish family when we had a lot. Yesterday Jay got beans from them when he went for corn. We are all waiting for canning tomatoes to ripen. It is looking like Gilbert may have some first. Gilbert keeps us supplied with boxes of Juliets and slicing tomatoes.
May God bless you on this day, Sally..
