Yesterday Heather and Jay helped customers and worked in the garden planting.  There were lots of customers.   They were doing just what Jay and Heather were doing, finishing planting their gardens.  Heather's flowers are starting to bloom. She is starting to keep a bouquet in the stand for sale.  They had fresh cucumbers for lunch.   It won't be many days before they will be available on the stand.  Jay sold out of garlic scapes, he'll pick more this morning.  Jay picked potato bugs.  Everyday he makes a pass through the potato patch picking potato bugs.  The chickens love them.  There will be new potatoes on the stand for the 4th.  Bekah and Azalea enjoyed a day with Bekah's mother.
There are three hummingbird feeders in the kitchen garden.  Their favorite feeder is mounted on the window behind the kitchen sink.  Last night it was empty, the other two had food in them.  When I went for a drink of water two hummingbirds saw me and became verbally abusive because their feeder was empty.  I put my shoes back on and filled it.  They kept scolding me even when I was outside filling the feeder!
Our second shipment of fly predators came yesterday.  They are tiny beneficial insects that lay their eggs on fly larvae.  So far they are doing a good job.  Even when the door is left open  we seldom see a fly.
May your day be blessed, Sally
