The peahen has decided she wants to live with the neighbor, and the neighbor is delighted.  The peacock struts around the farm displaying his beautiful fan of feathers and making his screeching call.
We don't have as many hummingbirds this year as we have had some years.  There are enough so there is almost always one at  a feeder.  There are lots of swallows  Enough to help keep down the black flies and house flies.  I don't hear the cardinals any more, they must have all found a mate.
The first round of cucumbers are planted and covered with remay to keep them warm and protect them from the wind. Black plastic is going over the rest of the new strawberry bed, they got a start on it yesterday.  Grass is coming in so thick they decided to go that route.  They will put holes in the plastic to plant the strawberries through.  The strawberries already planted are mulched with cardboard and straw.  They will be able to compare both methods.
We've had lots of showers but not much rain.  Jay is glad everything is planted with a soaker hose and mulched.  Something  is getting watered all the time.  Yesterday Maegin put water in the garden pond.
May your day be blessed, Sally
