4/28/24  Being happy never goes out of style.

Calm, a few clouds, 38 degrees.  Cloudy skies today, a slight chance of showers,a stiff south breeze with a high of 63.  Some clearing overnight with a stiff west breeze, a low of 45.  Sunshine tomorrow with a north wind, a high of 64, a low of 35.  Partly cloudy Tuesday with a north breeze, a high of 60, a low of 39.  Occasion showers Tuesday night.  Possible showers Wednesday morning. with an east breeze, a high of 61, a low of 41.  Cloudy Thursday with a SSE breeze, a high of 66, a low of 43.  Cloudy Friday with a brisk SE breeze, a high of 64, a low of 43.PM showers Saturday lasting into Sunday morning with brisk SE breezes.[, highs about 63, lows of 44.  Partly cloudy next Monday with a brisk west breeze,a high of 64, a low of 42.  Partly cloudy next Tuesday with a stiff Nw breeze, a high of 60, a low of 41.  A few showers Wednesday the 8th with a strong NNW breeze, a high of 58, a low of 41.  Cloudy Thursday the 9th and Friday the 10th with brisk north breezes, highs of 60, lows of 42.  Possible morning showers Friday.  Clouds the weekend of  Mother's Day with brisk north breezes, highs of 60, lows of 43.

    A beautiful spring day saw the potatoes planted.  Planted with a soaker hose in each row in case it is a dry summer.  The onions were dry enough so they watered them yesterday.  Lots of water equals large sweet onions.  Gilbert planted his first row of cucumbers in the low tunnel he built.  Jay is watching to see how the cucumbers do in the low tunnel.  In addition to the protection to the low tunnel Gilbert put remay on them.  He plans to take it off Thursday..Not only did customers buy many bags of Coast of Maine and seeds but lots of flowers left too.  Also onion sets and seed potatoes.

     I watered the pansies in the church box and got some white stain for the rose garden fence.  With so many pretty roses coming Tuesday they want to display them in a setting that matches their beauty.

     The greenhouse is closed today and tomorrow.  Starting next week for the month of May the greenhouse will be open Monday through Saturday and Sunday afternoon.  In June the open days will go back to Tuesday through Saturday.
