The chciks are outgrowing their brooder.  Today we have to figure out a different set up for them.  It is about a week too early for them to be leaving the protection of the brooder,
The earliest I've seen a hummingbird was May 4th.  Usually they arrive between May 10th and 14th.   There have been reports of hummingbirds in southern Maine already.  As far north as Augusta.  Hummingbirds moving north average 20 miles a day.  Perhaps this will be an early year.  I will get my feeders ready.  I am hardening off my hanging petunias so I can put them out.   Today I will plant baskets of fushias and harden them off so they can be available if the hummingbirds come early.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
