The selectmen's meeting last night ran past my bedtime!  so a late loop today.  Thankfully we no longer have a town manager.  Hopefully the town gets past the toxic environment and poor management of the manager who resigned last night.  Another meeting tonight as the selectman makes plans for recovery and moving forward.  Tonight's meeting should not last as long.
A neighbor's house burned yesterday, a total loss.  Bradford's response to the fire highlighted the chaos the town is in.  Fortunately five other towns came to our aid.  In this case I don't think a quicker more organized response would have made a difference.  The fire got a good start before it was noticed.  They believe it was started by an electrical malfunction.  Very nice family, very sad.
I did get some good news yesterday.  The neighbor who was going to spray foam on two of my cellar walls came and looked at the cellar.  He said the holes in the rock wall needed to be repaired before the foam could be applied.  And that once the holes were repaired he didn't think I would need the foam.  He and Jay made plans to get mortar and rocks and repair the wall.
Mike came by with another load of next winter's firewood.  Doug had hauled it out to the wood yard.  Lil Mike has split and stacked it.  Now it is being moved inside.  Kaden, Sally Jo and Doug were making hay so it didn't get stacked last night.  Thanks to this summer's wet weather they are still working on first cutting.
Jay, Bekah, Darel and Heather took advantage of the nursery being closed Mondays and took the grandkids to hike the Orono bog walk.  They had a great time.  They filled the vegetable coolers before they left.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
