The Griffin sales rep was here yesterday. He told us that the Lord was watching out for us Sunday night. If the power hadn't gone off so the greenhouse was deflated just before the hail came the plastic would have been full of holes. High winds can tear uninflated plastic so they got the generator started as soon as possible. Fortunately not before it hailed. He also told Bekah that several growers are complaining that their tomatoes won't ripen. The main reason for the visit was to ask for them to get the 2024 supply order in as soon as possible.
Jay put another super on the bees. The hive is full of bees. It seems to be a good summer for them. Jay set an empty hive near the full one in case they swarm. Hoping the swarm would just move into the empty hive. In two weeks Jay will take the honey off. The honey they produce this fall will stay on the hive for their winter food.
This is wonderful planting weather so Bekah is having a sale. She has some sun loving plants that are small. They would do well in the ground, they have been too wet in the pots. More sun is forecast for the coming weeks.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
