Sunday night the gardens looked terrible, yesterday morning not so bad. But by afternoon we could see that the watermelon and cucumber vines were in pretty bad shape. The hail had torn the leaves off the stems. If they recover the production will be way down. The winter squash leaves are full of holes but it looks like we will have squash. The winter squash vines have grown into the cantaloupe and seem to have protected them. The blossoms on Heather's flowers were pretty ragged but new blossoms open every day and the plants weren't too bady torn. The new crop of beet greens was torn to shreds. There were bands of hail. The garden got hit worse than the front yard. There was almost no hail in the backyard. The other vegetables are fine. The coolers are full. Broken branches and leaves are pretty well cleaned up. No large branches came down. Other people lost beautiful trees. To the dismay of Willis the pond on the lawn has seeped away.
My doctor's appointment was good. I no longer list as I walk!
Maegan is moving home from New Mexico. She will be renting Gayle's house the same as before. She and the girls are flying. Her stepfather is bringing their beds and other furniture in a U haul. Today her internet gets hooked up. She is taking the rest of her college courses online so the internet has to be in place.
Back to normal today, the hail didn't seem to bother the weeds! May God bless you on this day. Sally
