Yesterday was a pleasant day. A .02 inch shower came through just as they were headed out to pick beans. Enough to wet the vines. Bean vines tend to mold if the beans are picked when the vines are wet. Catching a time when the vines are dry has been a challenge this year. So they picked blueberries. For themselves, not the stand. Thomas Farms moved into a different planting, they said we would be happy with the corn. I got some for the stand and yes, it is good.
Blue sky with a few pink clouds tells me I can do more mulching and weeding under the horse chestnut tree. I battle Bishop's weed, some call it goutweed. It is invasive enough to give a person gout. I'm doing good to contain it, getting rid of it doesn't seem to be an option. Now there is some out by the pond. A bird ate some seeds, went to the pond for a drink and deposited the seeds? It surprises me when I see it for sale in nursery catalogs. Goutweed in the front yard, bamboo in the back yard means there is always something to be eradicated!
May God bless you on this day, Sally
