There are very few flies left in the house. I put two fly traps near the picnic table area. Time will tell if they are effective. I did find out that many people are dealing with a sudden increase of flies. Including the General Store. Some people live in the woods with no animals around. I've mostly cleaned up from the swatting. My countertops and cabinets needed to be cleaned anyway.
Jay dug another hundred pounds of red potatoes. People really enjoy the new potatoes.. Jay says he understands. They are having potatoes every night for supper. When customers with children come why he is digging, the children love helping dig potatoes. A lot of new people have moved to the area. They are visiting the nursery to see what we have and looking for suggestions. Some are building a home, some want to redo an existing yard. Besides helping with customers, weeding, dead heading, watering and other nursery work Bekah is working on next spring's orders.
The Andrews are going to take down the shelves in the cellar today so the walls can be spray foamed and the new electric panel put in. They will take them down with care because Jay will want to put them back up. A lot of bulbs and plants spend the winter down there. Also any potatoes we don't sell. When my children were growing up apples and canned goods went down there. And there was a very large potato bin. There are odds and ends on the shelves I need to clean off today. Plus clean the cook stove. Andrew is going to clean the chimney this afternoon. Then it is pickle time. Bekah wants to make dilly beans.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
