Another hot summer day meant watering plants in pots and containers.  Some time was spent picking potato bugs.  Vegetables were harvested for the stand.  Maybe with the clouds the hoop house tomatoes won't need to be watered.  Bekah built a fence in the morning, the heifers did not get out.  Heather sold quite a few bouquets.
I got half the sunflowers planted.  The patch is covered with cardboard and hay.  I have to cut holes in the cardboard, dig a hole in the gravel and drop in the sunflower.  One would think that as gravelly as the area is, nothing would grow.  Burdock plants are trying to grow under the cardboard and I have to dig them out.  If I don't they will find the hole I made for the sunflower plant and grow up through it.  It has been four years since any burdock has been allowed to grow and set seed in that spot.  So these burdocks are growing from five year old seeds.  I will finish planting them after church.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
