A good day yesterday. The square bales of hay are almost all in the barn. One wagon left to do today. The round bales are picked up and stored. Six more celery plants Bekah found and a tray of parsley were planted. There is room for more parsley if we have some left. I dry a lot of celery and parsley. Jay picked vegetables. Greens, cucumbers, yellow squash, and some sugar snap peas. The kids snack on sugar snap peas all day. Late in the day both jay and Bekah helped hay. Darel's heather took care of the nursery. The kids had a makeup game. I took them to the game, Heather came up when the greenhouse closed. She took the kids home by way of the ice cream store.
Jay took the remay off the cantaloupe yesterday because they have blossoms. The watermelon vines are getting large but no blossoms yet so they are still covered. Now he is going to have to keep an eye on the cantaloupe for cucumber beetles. They have been hand picking potato bugs but yesterday there were too many to get them all picked off. Jay will have to spray the potatoes.
We got a call from the company we bought our wood fiber soil from. Their representative will be here August ninth to talk about what they can do to make all the problems we had with the soil this year right. Their machinery broke down and they couldn't get parts. They hired another company to mix and bag the soil. They didn't do quality control. Trying to go "green" bit us.
Heather came to do books. Things are going very well on their new property. Trees that needed to be cut are cut and removed. The driveway goes in this week. The foundation man moves in in two weeks. Their trusses will be here in five weeks. Heather has ordered her kitchen cabinets.
My granddaughter in Alaska got a message from the water company that they had used fifteen thousand gallons of water in the last two days. Fortunately it was just a stuck toilet tank flapper. As I said, a good day!
May God bless you on this day, Sally
