When we lived in Alaska Gary and Beth Ireland were a large part of ours and our boys' lives.  Family.  Snowmaching, fishing, just sitting around the table or Sunday dinner Gary and Beth were there.  Last year when I went to Alaska they came to Keith's so we could spend time together.  As good as it was to see them it was hard because we missed Darel so.  Yesterday I got a message from Beth, Gary had had a heart attack and died, very unexpected.  When I talked to my son in Alaska he said he had been concerned, Gary wasn't answering his phone.  But he never expected such news.  Doug kept saying he was so glad he got to spend time with him last year when he went to Alaska.  Andrew's reaction, "Him and Dad be reminiscing now."   It was a rough day for me, my eyes are leaking now missing Darel so.  Beth took gay back to the family burying ground in PA.
Yesterday was a good hay day.  The part off the parts baler wasn't right so I made a parts run, it was successful but the hay dried so nicely that Doug decided to square bale it.  It was so hot a load was left on the wagon to be unloaded this morning when it was cooler.. Sally Jo spent all day raking.  She had too much heat and wasn't able to help unload.  We were concerned for a while but she was ok.  Bekah tedded but not all day.  Her heifers got out again but Jay and I were able to get them in without trouble.  She searched through our supplies and got what she needed to fix the fence so they won't be trying anymore excursions.
Jay harvested lots from the garden in the morning, sold it all and went to the gardens for more. refilling the coolers again.  Except for some garlic scapes, those vegetables were sold by evening!  A very good cucumber crop this year.  Cucumbers love water and responded well to Jay's babying..  He'll pick more this morning.
I took water to the pansied in the church box. They don't like this heat.  it is time to switch them out for begonias.  I'll pot up the pansies, they will come back when the weather cools this fall.  Cindy went home early yesterday.  Her plants needed some TLC because it rained so much why she was gone.
May God bless you on this day. Sally
