6/24/23  I have so many things to do today I dare not miss my time with God.

Scattered Thunderstorms Monday, the 3rd with a SW breeze, a high of 80, a low of 64.  PM thunderstorms July 4th with a WNW breeze, a high of 81, a low of 65.  Showers and scattered thunderstorms the rest of the week with NW breezes, highs of 84, lows of 64 until Saturday when the low drops to 60.

Yesterday was another lovely and busy summer day.  Customers were understanding about being asked to move their cars to keep the driveway open for hay wagons.  We parked our cars out behind the barn.  All the wagons are unloaded.  They will pick up some loose hay and clean off the wagons today and feed it to the heifers.  A lot of hay went in the barn yesterday but the weather doesn't look very promising for a good hay year.  Not a sprig of dry hay will be allowed to get wet!
I took advantage of the last dry day for a while to go for baling twine and grain.  It looks like it may be a couple of weeks before Doug needs more twine but it is here and dry.  They don't give that stuff away!  Grain hasn't gone down either.  I got some blue hubbard squash plants.  We weren't watching and sold out before we got any planted.  I ordered more seeds from Amazon, not one germinated.  Lesson learned.
The watermelons are all planted and tucked under remay.  Jay will plant cantaloupe today, then the blue  hubbard.  I'll be setting out plants today.  The sun was too hot the last few days to set out plants that weren't in sheltered spots.  The next two weeks will be excellent weather for planting shrubs and perennials.  People who like to plant potatoes late to escape the potato bugs will have plenty of moisture to give them a good start.
May God bless you on this day, Sally.
