Another chilly and wet day. The hay was delivered. The barns are getting empty but there is plenty of moisture to get this summer's hay crop off to a good start. Bekah wasn't able to turn the heaters off very early and they were turned back on early last night.
There were lots of customers. A lot of people have built small greenhouses and are buying plants now. They want to be sure they have the plants they want so they will finish growing them themselves. Some customers came looking for strawberries. Strawberries shouldn't be planted until all danger of frost has passed. They are being shipped to us on Monday. Elderberries, asparagus, and blueberries on the same order. One nursery order is arriving tomorrow afternoon. Prides Corner Farm called and said they would be here next week. Fruit trees are coming next week too. We are not the only place having a chilly April. Many of our orders are a week late.
Bekah and Jay will be planting cucumbers and summer squash in four inch pots for customers who want a few started plants for an early crop. With no rain they will be working outside on the display area too. And of course helping customers! I have a doctor's appointment in Millinocket.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
