4/25/23 Don't rule out working with your hands. It does not preclude using your head." Andy Rooney

Showers Saturday night.  Showers Sunday with a strong ESE breeze, a high of 56. Rain Sunday night and Monday with an east wind.  A low of 40 Sunday night.  Monday's high 52, the low 40.  Showers next Tuesday with a brisk ENE breeze, a high of 52, a low of 39.  Showers next Wednesday with a NNE breeze, a high of 54, a low of 40.  Partly cloudy Thursday, the 4th with a NNE breeze, a high of 59, a low of 42.  Cloudy Friday, the 5th with a stiff NNW breeze, a high of 62, a low of 45.  Some sun throughout the weekend and Monday the 8th with brisk NW breezes, highs of 65 and lows of 46-47.

Yesterday Bekah and Jay set up heaters in all the outside greenhouses.  There is no sun to warm up days so they aren't soaking up any extra heat to release at night.  It looks like they'll be running heaters at night until the weekend of the 6th with only one sunny day between now and then.  Will things be dry enough to till the end of the week?  The soil is warm enough to plant peas, onions and potatoes.  Jay went to Newport yesterday and got the potato order.  Today he;ll set up potatoes in the vegetable stand for sale.  Seed potatoes for planting.
It was dreary, cold and wet outside but warm and pleasant inside thanks to the cook range.  Cindy and I spent the day visiting, making it a very pleasant day.  She left about three.  I  uncovered the roses more and did a few other outside things.  I still had a load of dishes to do from Sunday and Monday's laundry.  I have house work to do today but I plan to be outside between showers.  I'll finish uncovering the roses and mulch the big rose bush in the kitchen garden.  My kitchen compost bucket has coffee grounds and banana peels in it that I'll bury under the mulch.  Last year the climbing rose had some bugs.  I'm going to plant some chives around it and put a hummingbird feeder next to it.
I planted one of the wildflower packets we sell in the store in a 601 and put it under the lights.  I think every single seed germinated!  I have to transplant them.  I'll have trays of seedlings to mix in my flower beds!  I probably should have waited for it to warm up and direct seeded the packet.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
