A busy day yesterday. I went looking for laths, none at the feed store. I picked up some feed. Not much because I'll have to go back in three weeks to pick up chicks. Chicken feed had gone down a few cents. At least the price change was in the right direction! The chickens are responding to the longer days by laying lots of eggs. Yesterday Heather and I decided to drop the price to $4.50 a dozen. I went to the cedar mill. They didn't have any laths either so I bought some low grade 1 by 3 cedar trim. I picked up sandwich makings on the way home. I'd rather not cook today. Granddaughter Baylee is in a play this afternoon. I'd like to go watch it.
The rain melted a lot of snow. The Amish work horse went home yesterday. No more sleigh rides for this year. There was still ice along the sides of the hoop house from the snow that had slid off. Jay went at it with a pick and maul. He was able to clean it up enough so they can put new plastic on today.
Today Doug is going to put some gravel behind the garage where the baker is going so that the ground is level. I don't know if they will get started on the baker or not. The forecast says the strong NW breezes we've been having won't be as strong next Tuesday and Wednesday. It would be nice if the baker was ready to have the plastic put on those days.
May God Bless you on this day, Sally
