We were more fortunate than we knew during the wind Tuesday night.  The wind blew a large tree into another tree.  That tree held up under the weight until yesterday afternoon when the wind had died down and the sun was shining.  Then the tree fell the rest of the way, taking out power.  Sun was shining into the greenhouse and the wood fire was going.  Which was good because it took me a while to get help moving the generators out.  For some reason the cell phones weren't working right.  I did get a hold of Jay and we got everything going.  Jay has helped Gilbert but this was his first time setting up on his own.  A good day for a practice run.  Finding out that we couldn't count on the cell phones he'll come right away when the power goes off again.  A good day for me to learn that I can't use a power surge strip on a generator.  The house generator kept kicking off because whenever something came on calling for power, the surge strip would kick off the gf on the generator.  So much for buying a new strip just to use when the power went off.
PayPal has "streamlined" the way a customer contacts it for help.  Their streamlining g is a dud, I wasted the morning trying to get through to someone online and on the phone.  I had just gotten through when the power went off.  When the power came back on I picked up where I had left off and after some texting back and forth was told that the company had been flagged and PayPal insurance would have the money back on my card in 3-5 business days.  A good reason to use paypal if you are buying from a company you don't know well.  I suspect their new help recordings will be revamped.
Another flower cancellation yesterday morning.  I must not have been the only cancellation because it took several tries to reach our agent.  I was able to get a strip of 50 different yellow calibrachoa to substitute for the hundred canceled.  Enough so we can still do our combos.
Most of the local grandkids were here yesterday, including the littles. Thankfully Debbie was too so I could be on the phone/computer and help Jay.. Not only did Debbie watch kids, she pruned the scented geraniums, planted seeds and cleaned the house. Doug showed up when the generator was kicking off, he spotted the power surge strip right away.  A quick fix!  I hope today will be less interesting!
May God be with you this day, Sally
