Clear,-4, 15-20 mph winds. Compared to the 20-20 mph hour winds with gusts in the thirties all night the wind seems like a breeze. Winds light and variable tonight with a low of -4. Partly cloudy tomorrow with a NW breeze, a high of 25 and a low of 0. Partly cloudy Friday with a west breeze, a high of 31 and a low of 6. Mostly cloudy Saturday with a light NE breeze and a high of 36. A low of 23 Saturday night with 1-3 inches of snow. Snow showers Sunday morning with a NW breeze, a high of 35 and a low of 17. Snow showers Monday morning with a NW breeze, a high of 29 and a low of 8. Sunny Tuesday with a brisk west breeze, a high of 24 and a low of 4. Partly cloudy next Wednesday and Thursday with brisk WNW breezes, highs about 23 and lows about 3. Snow showers are forecast for the next six days with NW breezes, Friday, the 8th'd high will be 29, the low 12. Slowly warming up so that the high on the 13th will be 35, the low 20.
Darel had another good day yesterday.
The greenhouse was warm and sunny yesterday. we unpacked the plants and watered them. The pansies and some of the hanging plats got planted. We quit an hour early because i wanted to to keep all the plants clustered in the parts of the greenhouse that stay the warmest. Even there I was only able to keep the temperature at 55, not the goal of 60 at night. It was 48 in some parts. I got up every two hours and fifteen minutes with the fires. The town snow plow went by regularly all night. I'm sure even though this was a heavy wet snow there was lots of drifting. Lots of snow was in the air pelting me as I walked back and forth to the greenhouse during the night. We are among the fortunate ones, our power only blinked.
Very few birds yesterday. the cardinals were here. Still down to two females. We started the winter with two males and three females. Early in the winter we started seeing only one male. Now only two females. This has been a tough winter.
I need to take water out to the hens. A late start this morning but expecting a good day. I hope your day is good, Sally
