The best way to overcome discouragement is by pouring encouragement into someone else.

 Calm. some clouds and 51 degrees.  Today's high will be 74, mostly sunny with a north breeze and a low of 45 tonight.  Mostly sunny tomorrow with a north breeze, a high of 76 and a low of 48.  It will be sunny, 78 degrees with a west breeze for Saturday, the day of Tiffany's graduation party.  Dropping to 51 at night.  On Sunday, Father's Day it will be sunny, 85 degrees, with a SW breeze and a low of 55.  Monday will be sunny with a south breeze, a high of 85 and a low of 55.  Monday will be a repeat of Sunday.  Afternoon thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday with SW breezes, highs about 80 and lows of 59 Tuesday and 55 Wednesday.  Next Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be partly cloudy with SW breezes, highs about 76 and lows about 64.  Possible morning showers Sunday, the 26th, with WSW breezes, a high of 76 and a low of 57.  Sunny Monday, the 27th, mostly sunny Tuesday, the 28th with the possibility of an isolated thunder storm.  Partly cloudy Wednesday with scattered thunderstorms Thursday.  Highs will be in the high seventies with SW breezes all week.  Lows will be about 57.

     After spending putting in a new jack, checking and re checking the phone line to my credit card machine the Cornerstone technician call the machine provider.  After an hour on the phone the technician gave up.  Tiffany and I spent another hour on the phone.  A more experienced technician came.  Finally  he talked to some one in the company who was able to explain that the machine couldn't handle the updated, faster phone service.  That is why new machines come with an internet option built in.  The technician couldn't understand that we didn't have internet available right there in the store.

     This is the first time the internet company has run into this problem  They had assured me the transition would be seamless.  An education for them with lots of consulting going on.  The machine is now sitting here next to my computer, customers have to come to the house to use their card.  Today the internet company is going to run an overhead line to the store, next to the phone line.  They aren't charging me since they had told me there would be no problem.  Fortunately yesterday was a slow day, customers were able to give me cash or write a check.  Two customers came after the machine was moved to the house and set up.  They were very pleasant and understanding.  the good thing: the cards go through almost instantly using the internet.  The other good thing is the wonderful service Cornerstone, now known as Maine Stream gives.  I doubt they will be assuring anyone else that their credit card machine will transition smoothly.

     Cucumber beetles love the change in weather.  So all the cucumbers, squash, pumpkins and gourds that aren't covered with fabric are dusted with rotenone dust.  This week as we take  the fabric  off the cucumbers and zucchini we will probably dust them.  usually the plants are large enough when we take the fabric off that a few beetles don't bother them.

      I'll be busy planting today, trying to make up for lost yesterday.  Rachael got all the white pumpkins planted yesterday.  Enjoy your day, Sally
