A very slow day yesterday, I think I had three customers.  There may be a few more today with the pleasant forecast for the rest of the week.  I got the boxes in the front of the garage planted.  Which included changing some of the soil.  And figuring out what to plant.  Some of the flowers I usually plant in them were pretty well sold out. I mixed in some perennials because this is the second year i've been low on flowers when i got around to planting them.  I mix in  zinnias, I've plenty of them left.
I planted some dahlias in the tulip bed, the  tulip leaves are pretty well died down.  I usually mix coleus with the dahlias but there isn't any left.
There must be a shortage of bugs this year.  A woodpecker had its fledgling in the sunflower feeder teaching it to crack the shells to get the sunflower hearts.  I'll put out a new suet cake this morning.  the suet is in a feeder that is meant to deter the blackbirds.  But a female red winged black bird has leaned to hang upside down like a wood pecker and get to the suet.  Problem is she drops chunks of suet on the ground because she isn't very good at it.
I need to water the greenhouse this morning.  We got some rain last night, but some of the flowers in the display area will need watered.  Tiffany and Rachael built a new compost bit with hay bales yesterday.  Today we'll finish planting white pumpkins and pull weeds to start filling the compost bin.
    Have a good day, Sally
