Showers and cool the next four days warming up Monday, the 13th.
We have several moist days in the forecast. Bonnie's rain on Sunday will be a big help. The showery days will be good for transplanting even if they don't help much with rainfall totals. We are only supposed to see clouds today.
When we got the petunia out of the cold frame we found a meadow sparrow with her nest in the back corner. She had been watered regularly. The three eggs have hatched now. All the flowers have been moved to the end away from her so she can raise her family in peace. Many little birds have left the nest are are busy eating the dandelion seeds. They are so much fun to watch! Very few sunflower seeds are being eaten. I saw a bobolink, we don't have many any more.
Yesterday was busy but nothing like Saturday. Rosemarie was able to leave at 2:30 , when she is supposed to leave, and i closed at four. I had a good supper with no interruptions. The chickens were good about coming in when I called them so i could shut the door early. (They need to be shut in safe from the fox.) And i went to bed at seven. I am ready to go this morning, hoping to get more of the garden planted. Gilbert planted the sweet potatoes yesterday. With the cool weather coming all the crops that like it warm will be covered with remay. The remay will keep the cucumber beetles at bay too.
Enjoy your day as we give thanks and remember, Sally
