A beautiful red sunrise is warning us this lovely spring weather is coming to an end.  I'm trying to decide if it is safe to leave the greenhouse fires without wood until after church.  Next weekend is supposed to be chilly, winter is trying to make up for being a mild one.  The state is saying their tick sweeps are showing that the mild winter has allowed the tick population to increase and that one i three ticks are carrying disease this year.  I am going to put some trellis net across the opening of the baker on the barn to keep the chicken out so I can let them out in the yard for tick control.  They also spend a lot of time under the heartnut trees scratching to find the caterpillars that make a mess of the trees if they don't eat them.
I didn't get much done outside yesterday, showers kept moving through.  My second order of pepper seeds came and I planted them.  My first planting didn't germinate well,  I'm not sure why.  Whatever I did wrong it was an expensive mistake.
just as we got ready to leave yesterday we lost our water.  i went downstairs and filed the points on the pressure switch but that didn't work this time.  Andrew came up and put a new one on for us.   Last time I had to file the points I got a new switch.  Should have had it put  on when I got it..  Andrew's road is such a mess it is officially closed but neither Doug or Gilbert were home.  Andrew said he didn't mind but I hated to ask him to take his SUV over that road one extra time.  But I was glad to get water back.  Where we heat our water with the cook range we can't have a fire going without water.  We were headed to my sister's for supper.  They were kind enough to hold supper for us so we ended the evening very pleasantly.
     Enjoy your day, Sally
