4/23/16
Talking about your problems is an addiction. Break the habit by talking about your joys.

51 degrees, mostly cloudy with a light NNW breeze that increase as the sun rises.  Today's high will be 56 with a low of 31 tonight.  Sunny tomorrow with a stiff NNW breeze, a high of 55 and a low of 33. Cloudy Monday with a WNW breeze, a high of 56 and a low of 31.  Partly cloudy Tuesday with a north breeze, a high of 52 and a low of 27.  Wednesday will be sunny with a stiff NWN breeze, a high of 52 and a low of 30.  Partly cloudy Thursday  with a NW breeze, a high of 54 and a low of 34.  Partly cloudy Friday with an ESE breeze, a high of 54 and a low of 36.  Partly cloudy next Saturday with a NNW breeze, a high of 59 and a low of 39.  Partly cloudy Sunday, May 1st., with a NNW breeze, a high of 62 and a low of 43.  The forecast shows showers the first week in May, hopefully they amount to some needed moisture.  Highs will be in the sixties with lows in the mid forties.
Another warm, pleasant day.  The grapes and blueberries came.  Many of them were Gilbert's.  He potted them all up both his and the ones for sale.  Dale planted Swiss chard and beets.  I got out soaker hose for them and for the lettuce I'm setting out today.  It is too dry to set out plants without water, even on a cloudy day.  I'm planting radishes between the lettuce plants.  Lettuce is tough, hopefully tough enough to make it though this cold spell
Darel went to North Haven with Doug, the job was about done and Doug needed someone to drive his pickup home so he could bring home the fence truck and equipment.  Doug couldn't get ferry reservations so Darel sat in line.  One ferry left full so he had to stay in line to make sure he got on the next one.  A long day.
The push this weekend is to get trays or saucers under all the perennial pots so the water doesn't just run out when we water them.  Tiffany did a lot of them Thursday but as the showers dry up without hitting the ground we need to do all of them.  Nights are going to stay cool if we don't get some moisture to hold the heat when the sun goes down.  Though compared to much of our nation's weather ours is great.
Talking about dry, I need to go turn on the soaker hose.  The hanging plants have to be watered every 36 hours now, soon they will be large enough so they will need water daily.
      Enjoy your day, Sally
