It rained all day yesterday. It rained why Gilbert unloaded the Paris Farmer's Load. Thank goodness he was here. The driver didn't want to back in, i understand that. Shoulder are soft and it was a tractor trailer. But he was going to unload the pallets and leave them on the black top, right in the traffic lane. I told him I didn't think so. He did wheel them into the end of the driveway. The ground was hard enough he could have wheeled them further but I was glad to get them out of the road. Gilbert put the fertilizer in his truck cab. The boxes that went in the store went in the tractor bucket and I took them to the store. Tiffany and Rachael had a late practice so Tiffany was able to get everything unpacked, priced and on the shelves Rachael transplanted all the container tomatoes that we giving away on Open Greenhouse and Nursery Day on April 30th.
After Gilbert unloaded the truck he went home, put on a dry rain suit and came back to put the perennials out in their cold frame. I got them out from under the benches and checked each one for mold. There was very little but they will be so happy to see lots of sun today. They will have plenty to time to harden off before they go on the display benches. When they go out of that cold frame the cabbage, broccoli, cauliflowers, etc. plants will go in. The day ended with the sun shining through the showers giving us a rainbow.
I will fill another cold frame today, making room in the greenhouse. This afternoon Andrew and I are going to clean the chimney. I'll clean the cook range why it is out.
The sun's rays are striking the greenhouse. Watering will be first on the agenda this morning. Enjoy your day, Sally
