Tiffany got her financial aid package from collage yesterday. It was even better than she had hoped. She is thrilled and excited. Today she will be applying for several scholarships. She has the essays all done but had to wait for her financial aid package to fill out the forms that must be turned in with the applications. She was getting concerned, she had filed the paperwork months ago, as soon as the collage would accept it.
Yesterday was a good day. With the help of a friend and her daughter we got caught up in the greenhouse and did some things outside. Tiffany and Rachael cleaned up where the shrubs go. Gilbert uncovered the perennials. A strong wind came up and had us all scrambling to get the plastic rolled up and put away. No problem drying it off. We were hanging on it and the wind would blow it out straight taking any moisture with it. Nearly took us too, especially Rachael, several times.
We uncovered the roses. They are in beautiful shape----except for the yellow ones. Mice or voles chewed on the yellow ones terribly. The yellow ones must taste different. Debbie and her daughter replanted the yellow ones in hope that they would grow. I'm doubtful, I'll add some to my nursery order this morning. Hopefully they won't be sold out.
I spent most of the day watering. I have to have the water on so gently when the plants are little so that I don't wash them away that watering is a slow job. The sun shown enough so that the plants dried off and I was able to run the big fan all afternoon, drying things out and bringing in lots of fresh air.
Today is town meeting day. The meetings don't usually last long. I'm hoping to get more outside cleanup done.
Have a good day, Sally
