We had a large flock of grackles here all day so we didn't see too much of our birds.  With the better weather a lot of them had left us for natural food.  A few of them slipped into eat between waves of grackles.  I didn't refill the feeders, just put out some seeds for the cardinals this morning.  they got to eat for a little while before the grackles and red winged black birds showed up.  The finches can eat from the thistle socks.
No rain but the temperature slowly dropped all day.  I kept one fire going, jus putting three pieces of wood on at a time.  Tiffany did computer and display work.  For the first time ever we expect to have our perennial displays set up for Open Greenhouse Day.  Gilbert will uncover them sometime during the next few days.  Most of them are covered with a blanket and white plastic.  They are OK but the ones covered with black ground cover are showing some green so I took that off.  Usually the ones i put the ground cover on are buried in snow drifts.
A box of plugs and cuttings came last night.  We'll get them planted today.  One more box coming next week.  We have lots of own seedlings to transplant.  the marigolds peeked through yesterday.
      Have a good day, Sally
