A beautiful spring day yesterday with a high of 61. Warm last night too. I started a fire in the greenhouse at seven and only put wood on it at midnight. If we weren't going to have so much cloudy weather I wouldn't have started the fire. I put a few pieces on this morning because i'm not sure we'll see any sun.
The girls took the perennials out of the little greenhouse. Even though they were covered with a blanket and I had opened the doors I was afraid it would get so warm they would start growing. There was no ice under the blanket. Last year we couldn't get through the snow to get in the hoop house and little greenhouse. And we couldn't even see the cold frame. I opened the cold frame up. I'll look ahead at the weather a few more days before I decide to empty it.
Compared to early in the week we have very few birds. They are "bad weather" friends.
I'm going to let the hens out. There were fox tracks around the barn on that last snow so I have to make sure I close their door. We've had foxes climb the fence. With daylight savings time coming Saturday they will be going to roost later. I am not a fan of daylight savings time. I like the early morning light and i don't need to put in a longer day!
Enjoy today, Sally
