Yesterday was a beautiful fall day.  I spent most of the day getting an annual physical.  I'll be seeing a foot doctor because my feet are numb, at least it wasn't my head.  If I'd been home working in the gardens instead of sitting my feet would have been warm and had  feeling! Lots of tests.  I am well cared for.
The audiologist that served many hard of hearing people in Dover for years  had his office in his home so he could care for his elderly mother.  She died, he sold the home and is now a world traveler.  My doctor is part of a group of people working to find affordable care for his many patients.  Suddenly no place to get filters and batteries for our hearing aids.  I am going to go online today and see if I can get them directly from the company.  I'll report back to my doctor.
We have been slow this fall at cleaning our cupboards and putting fresh sprays of peppermint in  them.  Already there are signs of mice.  That job has moved to the top of the list!
Over the years we have only seen a gray squirrel a few times.  Lots of them live a mile down the road in an oak grove.  This year we have two here gathering heart nuts.  Because of the drought the acorns have very little meat in them.   Our two heartnut trees had plants displayed under them.  As the plants were watered the trees got the run over.  Lots of wild animals and birds eat acorns,  this will be a lean fall for them.  The blue jays are coming to the bird feeders.  Will the squirrels join them?  Doug's electric cattle fences keep the bears away from our bees and my bird feeders.
May your day be blessed.  Sally
