Thin clouds. 45 degrees, calm.  A south breeze today, clouds, high 71.  Slight chance of an afternoon shower.  Occasional showers tonight, low 50.  Mostly sunny tomorrow, a west breeze, high 75, low 51.  Sunshine Monday, A light NNW breeze, high 74, low 48. Sunshine Tuesday and Wednesday, highs about 80, SSW breezes, lows about 53.  Partly cloudy Thursday, a south breeze, high 79, low 54. Partly cloudy Friday, a brisk NW breeze, high 73, low 44. Partly cloudy next Saturday, a north breeze, high 65, low 43. Partly cloudy next Monday, a south breeze, high 69, low 45.     Yesterday's highlight was a call from Alaska, Keith and Tami have another grandson!  Although he was born at 34 weeks via C-section because of pregnancy complications he weighs five pounds, 3 ounces,  He cried immediately, assuring everyone his lungs were working great.  Mother and son are doing fine, Dad Austin is just thankful that all is well,

    Yesterday on the farm was another day of cleaning up the garden.  Bekah says all the birds that were behind the house are in the gardens eating bugs, caterpillars and weed seeds.  Repaying us for all the sunflower seeds they've been eating.  I noticed yesterday that the seeds in the sunflower blooms have doubled in size since the rain.

    I took a Cortland apple tree to the town hall for the Historical Society's benefit breakfast and silent auction this morning.  Fall is a good time to plant fruit trees.  This fall they will have to be watered.

When violence makes the headlines, I’m reminded that revolutions don’t begin in the halls of power, they begin around kitchen tables, in backyards, in homes where children are taught that life is sacred and truth is worth living for. We can’t stop all the chaos out there, but we can raise sons and daughters who will carry light into a darkened nation.
