A quiet day yesterday for our family. In the afternoon Silas had a birthday party, very low key. He'd really rather we didn't even sing happy birthday to him. It was not a good day for our neighbors, their home burned in the very early morning hours. They got out with the clothes on their backs.
It was a discouraging day for anyone who got chiicks on the shipment Saturday morning. The chicks got delayed for a day in shipment. Everytime Bekah went out there would be a few more dead ones. This morning we have 14 out of 36. Our Amish neighbors have 3 out of 25. The hatchery is going to replace them.
The Paris Farmers Union order is coming today. Other drivers with the same size truck back in the driveway, their drivers can't seem too. And they always seem to have problems with their lift gate or their pallet jack. Maybe this year will be different. I know other greenhouses say they would buy more from them if delivery was easier. At least the weather is nice.
We got another load of wood. It is all stacked and they are working on the load dropped the other day. They have two loads of hay to load sometime in the next few days
We were happy to see the old brown Christmas trees gone. The birds weren't. The little birds kept looking for them.. We can't plant an evergreen tree for them because of the septic system. There is a honeysuckle bush on the fence. When it leaves out they can hide in it. There is lots of cover on the other side.
May your day be blessed, Sally
