9/2/24 When things go wrong take a minute to be thankful for the things that have gone right.

Sunshine, just a few puffy clouds, calm, 54 degrees.  Mostly sunny today with a brisk NW breeze, a high of 71.  Clear tonight with a WNW breeze, a low of 48.  Sunshine tomorrow with a strong WNW breeze, a high of 71, a low of 50.  Sunshine Wednesday and Thursday with SW breezes, highs of 80, lows of 53. Partly cloudy Friday with a brisk south breeze, a high of 75, a low of 56. Showers this weekend with stiff SE breezes, highs about 70, lows about 54.  Pleasant next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with WSW breezes, highs about 70, lows of 50.   Partly cloudy Friday the 13th with a west breeze, a high of 72, a low of 51. Some showers the weekend of the 14th and 15th with NNW breezes, highs about 70, lows about 52.  Partly cloudy Monday the 16th with a west breeze, a high of 74, a low of 53.

    Yesterday was a lovely late summer day.There weren't as many as usual in church it was so nice.  Summer's last hurrah!  After church Bekah and family and Heather and family went hiking in an area where there are lots of oak trees that produce large acorns.  They collected acorns for fall and Christmas wreath decorating.  It is also an area where there are Chestnut trees.  Jay was sad to see one had died.

    Gilbert bought me a bucket of carrots.  They are scrubbed and cut up, ready to be blanched and put in the freezer,  He and Barbie, Rachel and Evan enjoyed the warm sunshine on the lake.

    I think all the local hummingbirds are gone.  I think any we see now are migrants passing through.
