August is half gone.  Summer is passing much faster than I would like.  The fall forecast has been posted by the US weather forecasters.  Much warmer than average for September and October, warmer than average for November.  The Farmer's Almanac says we can expect a wild winter.  Doug and Bekah have started the second cutting of hay, always a sign that fall is closing in.
The garden pond is full of frogs.  Are the pond lilies and cattails giving the frogs enough cover to protect them from the ravens and racoons?  Or have they found food they prefer to frogs?  When the hummingbirds babies first left the nest they mobbed the feeders.  Now that they are older they prefer flowers.  The red salvia in front of the get together room windows is full of hummingbirds this morning.
Today will be another day of summer chores, fall isn't here yet.  My doctor's staff is trying to find a hematology clinic that will see me before November.    I'm willing to travel to see someone sooner.  May your day be blessed.  Sally
