5/6/24  We need much less than we think we need.

Perhaps some late day showers next Tuesday with a brisk SSE breeze, a high of 67, a low of 48.  Partly cloudy next Wednesday with a SW breeze, a high of 69, a low of 48. Some showers Thursday the 16th through Saturday the 18th  with brisk west breezes, highs about 69, lows about 49.

Church in the morning, nap and visiting in the afternoon for me.  Lots of customers kept Bekah and Jay busy. As always Bekah had to water.  Large, healthy plants drink lots of water.  Whenever they had a chance they looked for the peahen.  We think she is sitting on a nest somewhere.
Bekah and Jay got ten more chickens Saturday night.  They kept getting in the previous owner's garden.  We are hardly keeping up with egg customers so we were glad to get a few more hens.  And one beautiful Jersey Black Giant rooster.  Big as he is he'll eat his share of feed.  He has a good disposition.  And a loud, cheerful crow.  We enjoyed listening to him yesterday.  Our old hens didn't have a rooster.  He'll stay this fall when they leare.  The pullets will go in with him.
Andrew and Gayle bought me a feeder with a cage around it so the little birds can eat but not the blackbirds.  The birds aren't up yet so i don't know what they will think of it.  No hummingbirds have come to the feeders yet.
Looking forward to the fruit trees arriving today.  May your day be blessed, Sally
