4/22/24  No amount of coffee can wake you up as fast as hearing, "The cows are out."

Clear, calm, 34 degrees.  Sunshine today with a NW wind, a high of 48.  Clear tonight with a WSW breeze, a low of 28.  Sunshine tomorrow with a south wind, a high of 58, a low of 34.  Rain Wednesday with a SW wind, a high of 48, a low of 24.  Sunshine Thursday with a strong NW breeze, a high of 51, a low of 28.  Sunshine Friday with a WNW breeze, a high of 59, a low of 32.  Partly cloudy Saturday with a stiff SSW breeze, a high of 63, a low of 42. Some  PM showers next Tuesday, lasting into Wednesday morning with a WSW breeze, a high of 57, a low of 43.  A stiff ENE breeze next Wednesday with a high of 56, a low of 42. Some morning showers next Thursday with a strong NNW breeze, a high of 58, a low of 40.  Cloudy Friday the 3rd and Saturday the 4th with stiff North breezes, highs of 60, lows of 42.  Perhaps some morning showers Sunday the 5th with a brisk NNW breeze, a high of 61, a low of 44.  Partly cloudy Monday the 6th with a brisk NNW breeze, a high of 63, a low of 43.

     A quiet Sunday.  After church I visited my sister and her husband in Dover.  Bekah watered the greenhouse before she went to church.  In the afternoon Jay's father came and put in a couple of electrical outlets upstairs making things safer and more convenient for Bekah and Jay.  

     The barnyards have dried up enough so the dairy heifers can go outside days.  Bekah worked on the lane and fence making putting them out easy.   The fences have to be in good shape, the cows smell the green grass and want at it.  So far all they've been able to do is looking longingly at the pastures.  The subject line reminds me of Sunday morning growing up.  The Hays farm was on the edge of our little village, their fencing wasn't the best.  Nothing would empty the church faster than the whisper that Hays' cows were out!  We lived far enough from the village so our gardens were safe.
