8/5/23 Vegetables are a must on a diet.  I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread, and pumpkin pie.

 Clouds and fog, calm, 60 degrees.  .20 inch of rain yesterday.  Isolated thunderstorms this afternoon with a high of 76 and a WNW breeze.  Clear tonight, a light WNW breeze, a low of 56.  Sunshine tomorrow with a strong WNW breeze, a high of 80, a low off 56.  Partly cloudy Monday with a SSE breeze, a high of 80, a low of 61.Showers Tuesday with strong SE breeze, a high of 69, a low of 63.  58% chance of showers Wednesday with a stiff NNW breeze, a high of 74, a low of 60.  Partly cloudy Thursday with a WSW breeze, a high of 80, a low of 62.  50% chance of showers Friday with a brisk SW breeze, a high of 76, a low of 60.    Possible morning showers next Saturday with a WNW breeze, a high of 79, a low of 58.  48% chance of showers next Sunday with a  Brisk SW breeze, a high of 78, a low of 62.  Partly cloudy next Monday with a WSW breeze, a high of 80, a low of 60.  From Tuesday the 15th through Friday the 18th there is a chance of showers every day with SW breezes, highs about 80, lows in the low 60s.  Partly cloudy Saturday the 19th with a high of 79, a low of 59.

    Yesterday was a quiet day.  Bekah got one seed order for next year done, an order that had an early order discount. Besides that it was everyday harvesting and nursery maintenance.  Darel's Heather closed for Bekah and Jay so they could go out to dinner on their anniversary.  I pretty much sat around waiting for my PT appointment at three o'clock.  Swatting that invasion of flies put my back and shoulders out of whack.  I am very grateful for my therapist's ability to straighten me out.  big Andrew came be and in an hour's time had the shelves in the cellar down and stacked, out of the way for the walls to be foamed and the new electric panel put in.

    At five o'clock we had an emergency town meeting to accept the town manager's letter of resignation.  She had told two selectmen and a state employee she was done.  By five she changed her mind and said they were all lying. She wasn't resigning.  There have been many problems with her.  There will be another meeting Monday night with a lawyer present to advise the selectmen on proper procedure since she is refusing to leave,

    Today I'll get back to sorting and cleaning the jars that came up from the cellar.  I'll pick blueberries again.  And maybe start pickles.
