Coolers of cucumbers, a cooler full of zucchini, another one full of summer squash. Beet greens, red and white potatoes. Some peas. The gardens are doing well. Jay harvests the vegetables in the morning and weeds them in the afternoon. When he isn't helping customers. Yesterday afternoon he took Bekah to her chiropractor's appointment. Darel's Heather was here to help customers. In between customers she made bouquets. As word gets around about the quality of her bouquets she is getting several orders. She also provides some restaurants with flowers for their tables.
The 99er where Darel works reopened yesterday. It was only closed for a day. Because of code violations. Some of their sprinkler heads were corroded and needed to be replaced. There was some mold in the basement. The news reported the violations as so serious the restaurant would have to be closed several days. Maybe that made interesting news but it wasn't fair to the restaurant. A lot of people have found mold in their basement this year!
I picked some blueberries, mine are just starting to ripen. The blueberries go in my freezer, there are not enough to sell. We do have blueberry plants for sale. And raspberry plants. No cherries or peaches this year. The weather was so wet and cold when they were in bloom they didn't get pollinated. Some say there weren't many blossoms because of the severe cold snap we had in February. The trees look healthy and fine.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
