We enjoyed the fourth. Cindy and I watched the tail end of the Boyd Lake Boat parade from Andrew's, I had the time wrong. We did get to see Gilbert's boat. We had lunch and visited with Andrew and Gayle. We came home for a while and then went up to Gilbert and Barbie's camp. Cindy spent much of the afternoon riding around the lake in Gilbert's boat. The first boat ride Gilbert was taking the kids tubing, the second was a fishing trip. Fortunately we were not depending on the fishing to provide our meal! Our meal was a Greek dinner. Tiffany's Evan's father loves to cook. Evan's parents were visiting from Rhode Island. His father packed the car with food and cooked us a meal that one would usually have to go to a 5 star Greek restaurant for. The fireworks on the lake are always a great show but Cindy and I were ready to call it a day by early evening. Little Andrew, Darel and a friend had gone in on some fireworks so they put on a nice display at Andrew's landing. Andrew's and Gilbert's camps are across the lake from each other.
It was not all a day off at the nursery. Besides regular chores Jay had to powder the winter squash for cucumber beetles. The squash doesn't have any blossoms yet to attract pollinators so he could use the powder. He also put another super on the bee hive. The first super is full of honey.
Today will be busy. Some vegetables will go on the stand. Doug will mow hay. I have a doctor's appointment in Millinocket. With no rain yesterday I need to water some of the containers and the hanging baskets before I leave.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
