5/18/23 Some of those who know the dollar value of everything don't know the true value of anything.

A brisk north breeze Tuesday, the 30th with a high of 75, occasional showers in the afternoon and evening.  An ENE breeze Tuesday night with a low of 54 and occasional showers.  Clouds, mid seventies got highs and mid fifties for lows the rest of the week.

Last night was not a good night.  I fear the blossoms on the fruit trees and berries were damaged.  Local strawberry farmers had sprinklers on to protect their crop.  Were the sprinklers enough?  Our little row of strawberries is probably damaged.  At two am I turned the heater up to medium and put extra remay on the squash and cucumbers in the little vegetable greenhouse.  The extra remay probably wasn't necessary but it couldn't hurt and I was afraid the temperature would drop more.  It didn't but the low in the gardens is always a few degrees more than the low here at the house.  Last night I put a couple of layers of remay on my flowers in my little greenhouse next to the house.  It doesn't have heat. I think the flowers will be ok.
Yesterday was a cold windy day.  There weren't as many customers as other days.  Jay and Bekah got the weeds hoed out of the potatoes.  They watered and rearranged perennials and did other odd jobs.  They were in the house for coffee and the heat from the wood stove more than usual.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
