Chilly last night.  I'm hoping it is our last frost.  I added a blanket to the remay over the plants in my little greenhouse here by picnic table.  I have pt at eight this morning so I won't uncover them until I get back.  We have heaters in the little greenhouses and cold frames.  Because she was watching the forecast Bekah hasn't moved the cole crop vegetables or the sumo petunia baskets out of the big greenhouse.  Tomorrow they will go out to the outside greenhouses with remay over them.
Another bull calf was born, nine calves so far and only two heifers.  At daylight yesterday morning Sally jo helped Doug take it in the house to warm up.  Mama was very glad  when they bought it back.  Her fault, she managed to get off in a corner to have it on the cold ground instead of the sheltered hay pack Doug has provided.
I'm not sure what I did yesterday besides getting a haircut and watering plants.   In the evening I had a church meeting.  When I got home it was dark enough for me to catch some hens that hadn't been laying and behead them.  This morning Jay will bury them deep in the compost pile.  They are such tough old birds they weren't worth dressing out.  Heather and Mike are bringing us their one year old hens today.
Jay took time off for a haircut too, he has to look good for the father daughter dance!  He also got a lot done in the perennial display area.  Now it is beginning to look like he wants it too instead of looking like a tornado hit.  Bekah and Heather transplanted.  Bekah had to give some plants iron.  Our hard water tends to make the iron in the soil unavailable to the plants.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
