Yesterday was a good day.  Jay got lots of potatoes planted.  Sally Jo made up tags for all the nursery stock coming in.  Cindy arrived mid morning and spent the day helping me transplant beets for beet greens.    Everyone is hungry for beet greens in the spring so we have them as early as possible.   Having an early crop lets us plant seeds for beets as soon as the greens are harvested.  Cindy transplanted Swiss chard and Spinach into 601s for people who wanted to plant their own greens and have them early.  The weather is going to change next weekend, the long range forecast for May says above average warmth the rest of the month.  But this week will be cool and too wet to plant the garden.  We are fortunate that we are able to get as many potatoes in as we have.  Today Jay is going to plant onions. Bekah will help him between customers.
I have town meeting this morning.  Then I'll probably get propane to make sure the plants stay snug and warm during the storms.  I don't have too many plants in the little greenhouse Gilbert gave me.  I'm waiting to see how it fares in Sunday night's winds.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
