Yesterday was a pleasant spring day.  When the kids came home from school they thought they should go out without jackets.   The sun was shining.  Jay and a friend repaired the calibrachoa house.  So much wind and cold temperatures are in the forecast between now and April 1st they didn't think they could find a warm enough day to put on a polycarbonate  roof.  So they decided on patches and repairs.  The aim is always to move calibrachoas out of the big greenhouse on the first of April. New plastic on the hoop house is next.  Maybe the breeses won't be too strong next Wednesday?
Bekah, Darel's Heather and Sally Jo spent the day planting.  Jay had filled pots and trays with soil before he went outside to work.  The greenhouse is filling up.  This morning will be a rearranging day.  Some of my plants will be bought back inside and put under lights to make more room.
We like the crabapple trees we offer for sale to be both pretty and useful. Dolgo or Chestnut crabapples are our choice.  They are great pollinators for other apple trees and their apples are large enough and flavorful enough to use in jelly and cider.  We haven't been able to source any trees so yesterday I ordered Dolgo whips.  I also ordered some young reliance peach trees because I haven't been able to find older ones.
May God be with you on this day, Sally
