A busy day yesterday. The gravel was leveled and the baker started. Jay also worked on the front and back of the hoop house. Pansies will go to the hoop house Friday. Next Monday they can go out on the display benches for sale. A bowl of pansies on the steps will brighten up a home! I'll give the church box a few days to warm up and plant pansies in it. Starting Monday, plants will be moving out to the small greenhouses and cold frames. Spring is right on schedule. Monday will also be the day the first of next week's shipments come. Not only the Coast of Maine products but fertilizer, ag. fabric and other supplies. We have to get another roll of greenhouse plastic. The small greenhouse we start vegetables in had wind damage and needs to be recovered. Gilbert is not only going to cover his vegetables that like warm weather with remay(ag fabric) but his beets, carrots and some other vegetables because if he doesn't the deer will eat them.
It warmed up enough by late afternoon so Bekah and Jay could stain the rafters for the baker. Not necessary but a coat of stain will give them a longer life. Today they are going to stain the plywood wall of the Quonset hut. The wall the baker is built against. They are very thankful for the warm afternoon temperatures.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
