Even though I'm not working like the girls are, it has been a long busy week. I slept until six this morning. I was too tired to feed the birds last night. If they ventured out of the woods today I didn't want them to find empty feeders so I filled them this morning.. The bright sunshine tells me it is a good thing I didn't put much wood on the greenhouse fire. Even with the wind the sun will heat it up.
Bekah wanted to do the calibrachoa combos herself but Violet has an infection and needs to stay in the hospital another two days on iv antibiotics. Debbie is coming today to pot them up. With this wind we probably won't move them to the calibrachoa greenhouse today.
Wallpapering is done. Except that it looks so nice I want to wallpaper another section that has always just been painted. An easy wall to do but because we need to move the hoosier cupboard to get to it we left it for another time.
The son of a friend who died gave me her geraniums. They are a prettier red than mine. Yesterday Debbie took cuttings from them. Lots of cuttings, they were badly in need of shaping. Debbie is going to put the original plants on the porch this summer. The plants look kind of sad now but should be beautiful by June. We are all going to share the cuttings. She took more lavender cuttings too. And planted the cabbage family seeds. We think we are going to want cabbage family seedlings ready to go in the ground the second week of May this year. The upstairs windows are beautiful, they are full of pink geraniums in bloom. In May I will slip them and put the plants in the garden to recover. We enjoy our geraniums so much in late winter that we are going to have geraniums for sale next fall.
May God be with you on this day, Sally
