Most of the rest of our soils came yesterday. The rest comes Friday. Unloading went smoothly. Jay got quite a lot of the soils stacked before he had to go home to be with Violet so Bekah could come over. He came over later and Bekah went home. He and Ayden worked on the hoop house.
The rest of the calibrachoas went to the calibrachoa house. Wave petunias were pruned and went to the cold frames. A good start was made on other petunias. The tomatoes are up, soon it will be time to transplant them. They like the heat of the big greenhouse, they will go where the petunias were. Last night when I plugged in the heater for one of the cold frames the fans went off. The lights were still on so I'm not sure what happened. I had to run a cord from the horse barn to that cold frame. We had an extra heavy duty 100 foot cord just in case. When Rob gets home from work today he is going to find out what is going on.
More than half the hanging petunias were pruned. The girls bought me the baskets, I pruned them and they hung them back up. Several went in the back room so that we could spread them out. They don't look as pretty now, all their blossoms cut off and shorter. In two weeks they will be covered with blossoms and we will be rearranging them again to give each one more room.
The forecast says the pansies can go outside on the display benches now. Before Sunday I will try to get some planted in the church box. Some perennials that are under the benches will be happy to go where the petunias are and get more sun. Soon they can go outside. Then the pansy house will become the cabbage and broccoli house! The hens are laying lots of eggs. Mike put the egg refrigerator back in the vegetable stand with eggs in it. There are still eggs in the front entry of the house for the regular customers that get eggs all winter.
May God be with you on this day. Sally
