I started on the stove as soon as I got home from church.  In an hour or so I was able to text Andrew that the stove and chimney were cool.  He got lots of creosote loose from the chimney and cleaned out.  Then I worked on the outside of the stove.  There is such a good draft now I have to be careful not to let it run too hot!  I had lunch then I cleaned up the mess.  And vacuumed all around the ceiling, especially by the chimney so that there won't be any soot or webs in the way of painting this morning.
That was enough for the day but the snow was gone  around the kitchen garden.  I knew today and tomorrow would be windy, then mud.   So the birds' Christmas trees and the boughs I used for windbreaks and decorations are all in the back of the truck.  Wednesday I'll take them to dump and get the boughs from the church box.  In three weeks or so I'll be planting pansies in the church box.  A small flock of grackles came into the garden for a while.  The rest of the time the regulars were able to eat in peace.  There were less blue jays than usual and I didn't see any grosbeaks.
Today we will start putting the open sign out when we are working in the greenhouse in case someone wants to get their seeds.  I'll put on FB that people can call to make sure we are here.  We open for the season 4/18.
May God be with you on this day, Sally
