3/16/22 Six months from now you will either have 6 mouths of progress or 6 months of excuses.  The choice is yours.

A light dusting of snow.  clouds, calm, 30 degrees.  Clouds today with a brisk SW breeze, a high of 47, a low of 34.  Morning clouds/afternoon sun tomorrow with a stiff south breeze, a high of 55, a low of 37.  Morning clouds/afternoon sun Friday with a high of 60, a low of 32.   Rain Saturday, Saturday night, showers on Sunday.  Snow may mix in early Saturday morning and Saturday night..  A brisk east breeze Saturday with a high of 42, a low of 36. A NNW breeze Sunday with a high of 47, a low of 33.  Partly cloudy Monday with a WNW wind, a high of 44, a low of 31.  Partly cloudy Tuesday with  a NW wind, a high of 40,  a low of 27.  Partly cloudy next Wednesday with a north breeze, a high of 44, a low of 31. Snow to rain next Thursday with a stiff SE breeze, a high of 42, a low of 31. Partly cloudy Friday, the 25th, with a NW breeze, a high of 49, a low of 31. Cloudy the next four days with brisk NW breezes, highs around 40, lows in the twenties.  Then warming up.

All the ice melted yesterday making walking pleasant.  The snow drifts were hard enough so I could walk out to check the bees.  I'd checked a while ago but was hoping I was wrong, thinking  that the hive didn't make it through the winter.  I wasn't wrong.  Beekeepers tell me there have been a lot of losses this past winter.  That doesn't make me feel any better.
I took down the Christmas tree in the kitchen garden, the needles are turning brown.  The other trees I put up for windbreaks were never in the house so they are still green.  They'll come down soon anyway.  The snow needs to melt so the ground can warm up and the flowers grow.  The live trap is empty.
Today we'll run the hose so that it can be left out.  there are a few nights in the forecast we'll have to let it run quite a bit but not many.  Not as many as the maple syrup producers would like to see.  Today we'll transplant some of the seedlings in the house.
May God be with you, Sally
