2/23/22 When you look at life with gratitude the world becomes a magical place.
A west breeze, clouds, 43 degrees. .77 inches of rain. I'm anxious for daylight so I can see how much ice is gone. More will leave today with a WSW wind, a high of 58 and some breaks of sun this afternoon. A NW wind overnight as the temperature drops to 10 under clearing skis. The price of propane I'm glad we have the wood stove in the greenhouse to help the furnace. A few more changes in the plug and cutting order yesterday as Jolly Farmer prepares to fill our boxes. Bekah ordered some house plants customers have been asking for. There is room for more plants in the shipments coming on March 7th and 21st but will there be room for more plants in the greenhouse? Violet was anxious to come to the farm with Bekah but she mostly slept or sat on Mama's lap. Today the visiting nurse comes to check her numbers and get blood samples.
Andrew spent a couple hours looking for and eliminating air leaks in the greenhouse. We don't want any of the precious heat escaping. Friday's snow will bank the bottom for us. Heather and Bekah went to town to choose more paint for the sign. Heather will try to get it finished before plants come. Soon as the frost is out Doug will replace the posts the sleeping paper man took out so the new signs can go up. Mike has made new signs for the sign showing what is in season and available. We have a new flag and flagpole too.
It isn't very light yet and the fog is so dense I can't see how much ice is gone. I can tell that enough is gone so there will be no problem walking to the greenhouse. I'm hitting the send button and heading out to the greenhouse to start the fires for the 2022 season!
May God be with you this day, Sally
